Two Bangladeshi opposition activists killed in anti-government protests

Violence erupted in Bangladesh as opposition activists clashed with police during protests against the government. The protests, initiated by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat-e-Islami, called for the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ahead of the upcoming elections. Two BNP members were killed, and over 100 were injured during the clashes. International concerns have been raised, with several countries calling for restraint and a fair election process. The US Ambassador has urged all sides to hold talks, but Prime Minister Hasina has rejected the call.
